Always wondered what goes on in the mind of a grant proposal evaluator? Always wanted to peek behind the closed doors of a grants’ committee meetings? This hands-on workshop will help you to understand the different stages of the evaluation process and the evaluation criteria of a research proposal, and understand how evaluators score grant proposals. It will also provide you with some tips to appeal to the evaluation panel.
A week before the event, you will receive two proposals and the corresponding evaluation grid, and you will be asked to write a short evaluation report (based on a template). On the day of the event, we will have a simulation exercise of a grants’ committee meeting, where we will discuss your evaluation reports. An experienced grants’ committee member will join the event to share their experience of sitting on evaluation panels and give insights on what makes an application convincing and competitive.
